What actually IS the Baptism in the Holy Spirit? John the Baptist said that Jesus would baptize people in the Holy Spirit, and the way he said it made it clear that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was a much bigger deal than receiving the Baptism of John.

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matthew 3:11).

The way some theologians talk, you would think that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was really no big deal. You would think it is something you could have without even knowing that you had it. But Jesus did not talk this way to his disciples...

The word Holy is widespread in the Christian walk. Unfortunately, it is often used in vain. But when we recognize and appreciate the love of Jesus for us, we will begin to understand and fully appreciate the word and it is my prayer for this article.
