"Joy unspeakable and full of glory.... Joy unspeakable and..."
Do you remember that Hymn? Although I love contemporary Christian music, I grew up and still respect the ol' Hymns.
Joy unspeakable. That sounds like the life I want to live - what about you?
"Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!" - Psalms 47:1
Yet, we all too often let the trials and tribulations of every day life divert our joy, and lead us into a life of boredom, doubt, and fear. Then, we allow our negative atmosphere to saturate and affect others. Instead of being a light to the world, a light reflecting joy, we instead reflect despair. And despair, like other emotional states, is very contagious.
So what leads to joy? How do we walk in a life of joy every day, or at least more than we are currently?
In our counseling and coaching practice I have noticed that many people have forgotten that JOY is attainable - and even through our trials we can "operate" from this place of joy.
The path to joy is our faith and trust in Jesus. The word tells us that he is the way.
"The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish." - Proverbs 10:28
The key is remembrance. Remembering and reminding our own selves of the hope of glory that is within us! This is not something we can only do once, but we must make it a point to remind and recognize the spiritual reality of Christ within us!
Live. Love. Overcome. Be Joyous!
I believe in you, and I am praying for you!
