The Power of the Prophetic Word

Recently while in Jerusalem, the words that Jesus spoke to His disciples regarding the temple came to my mind.

"Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, 'Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.'" (Matthew 24:1-2)

The statement must have been very startling to the disciples.

The temple, which was built by Herod, had been a massive operation to construct. The old temple that Ezra built with the help of King Darius of Persia had stood for 332 years. It was removed by Herod's workers, stone by stone, all the way down to the ground.
