No, I wasn't arrested, and my Mustang does have a little more power than the one is this pic :-)
But I did get a speeding ticket yesterday. Why?
I broke the law.
The law has a purpose.
With all the debates of law and grace, I want to be very clear - We need the law to show us our faults and the necessity to have a savior!
The speed limit showed 45 mph and I was a little over... now, I was still ticketed and have to pay the fine. A little over officer... no, over is over.
Sin is sin.
So, I can either pay the ticket myself (not a good idea) and pay for my sin myself (worse idea).
Or I can find a mediator - in my case it is a local attorney... In my sin it is the King of Kings Jesus Christ!
As sinners we have broken the law of God, and thus we have to pay for the sin, or have someone pay for us!
As I was sitting in my car waiting for my ticket to be written, I was praying in thanksgiving for my sin being handled by Jesus Christ!
He has paid for our sin and his grace is truly amazing!
So do not despise the law of God, it shows us our sins and our need for Jesus. Take a moment today and thank the Lord for his wonderful grace and everlasting love!
And, oh yeah, watch your speed out there on the roads! :-)
