"Wayne, prophecy is not for today, the gift of prophecy and prophets passed away..."

Really?  Hmmm....

This above statement was quoted to me by a local Pastor.  Now, I have a great respect for the pastor and consider him a friend.  Sadly today there are many that still believe that the gifts of the spirit have somehow "died away" and are no longer valid.  Yet to overcome this objection to what is reality, lets take a close look at the following conversation.

Pastor:  Well Wayne, today is different.  We no longer hear from God as the prophets once did.  

Me:   Really?  The word of God tells us that prophets are part of the 5 fold ministry, and that we should earnestly seek the gift of prophecy.

Pastor: But not for today.  That passed away, we now have the Bible.

Me:  Ok, but may I ask you a question? How long have..
