The wilderness has been intense for many of us lately.
We've been pressed on many sides, in many ways; crushed in spirit at times,
and longing for certain breakthroughs that seem all too far off; even now.
But in this moment, we are learning more and more to lean into Him,
and in the process, we are falling more and more in love with Him!
What does it mean to lean? The definition of leaning is: to rest against or on something for support; to depend or rely upon. If you are leaning into Him, your arms are free of any load you once carried. They are wrapped around your Beloved.
Why would that be so important church? Why?
In Song of Solomon 8:5 it says, "Who is that coming up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved.....?"
What was the posture of the woman
who represents the church, His bride? She was leaning. Why was she leaning? She had become wholly dependent upon her lover. She was at ease. She trusted him fully. She was completely relaxed. She was at rest! She knew in herself she was weak, but with him she was strong (2 Cor. 12:9-10). She knew she couldn't do it without him. She needed his wisdom like no other. She needed him to guide and protect her. She needed him, and
the wilderness proved it to her in a whole new way. It was there she came to the revelation knowledge deep within her heart that he could and would love and support her (Jude 24).
