Colossians 1:27 reads, "God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
It was prophesied in the Old Testament that Jesus Christ would bring salvation to the
Gentiles. Isaiah 49:6 says of Christ, "I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth."
However, it was not predicted until the time of Christ that salvation involved Christ living inside His
believers. So, the mystery that has been revealed is the indwelling Spirit of Christ in each of us that is the assurance of glory, our eternal inheritance with God.
Without the Spirit of Christ in us, we simply will not make it to eternal glory. Jesus said in John
14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." So, we see that not many roads lead to God, but only One. Furthermore, Christianity is the only belief system in the world where the deity, the One true God, chooses to live inside of man. The Holy Spirit is our seal of salvation.
We need the Holy Spirit to lead us in holy living every day. Titus 3:5 says, "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." Our good deeds cannot save us because we cannot be holy on our own. Regeneration, or spiritual rebirth, comes solely by the Holy Spirit. This
