Why
haven't you moved your Queen my friend?
I watched Shawn as he moved his pawn all over the chess board... no hesitation, no delay, no fear... this chess match was unlike any other I had ever witnessed.
With confidence of a great warrior and the speed of a child wildly jumping pieces around on a checkerboard - Shawn was ruthless.
Yet, he moved his pawns
and rooks so quickly that he left openings... he unknowingly left his queen and king vulnerable. He moved quickly and powerfully. His opponent Val "felt" stuck - no where to go....
In the game of chess the Queen is the most powerful piece. She can move in any one straight direction - forward, backward, sideways, or diagonally - as far as possible as long as she does not move through any of her own pieces. She is Powerful. She has freedom to go and move as she pleases.
Yet, a great
chess player protects the Queen and obviously the King as well. Watching the ruthless Shawn move quickly taking territory seemed impressive until I saw the next move....
Waiting, patient, and studying the moves, Val seemed to be STUCK - not able to advance or take
any territory.
Until... Because at the right moment the game-changer was unleashed. Val moved...
