I have found in talking to others about Jesus Christ that there are common questions that regularly come up.

I'd like to discuss five common questions about Jesus and what the bible says about each question.

1) Was Jesus Christ more than just a man?

Yes, He is more than just a man. He is God incarnate, which means that God sent His son, Jesus to become a man. He was 100% man and 100% God.

He set Himself up to be equal with the FatherJohn 14:9, "Jesus said to him, 'Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father".

He said that He existed before the world was createdJohn 17:5, "And now, glorify Thou Me together with Thyself, Father, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was."

He said that He and the Father are oneJohn 10:30, 31 "'I and the Father are one'. The Jews took up stones again to stone Him."

He claimed deity by using a name that God alone usedHe testified that He existed before Abraham and He used a name referred to God the Father, "I AM". John 8:58,59, "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am'. Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple."

2) Why did Jesus have to die? Couldn't God just forgive our sins without requiring Jesus to die?
