The time between the revelation of a promise from God and the fulfillment of that promise can be difficult! New challenges, doors, and opportunities await! How do we do our part to prepare? Can we forfeit what God has called us to?

1. Your preparation begins with developing a heart that desires God’s glory above all else. 

Saul had everything going for him in the natural, but he lost the kingdom. It began when he found himself in a tight situation during battle. Saul waited for Samuel to come to present an offering to the Lord for a little while, but Samuel was  slow in coming, so Saul brought the offering contrary to God’s law. His reason? “I saw that the people were scattering from  me.” (I Samuel 13:11) His desire  was for the approval of men more than the approval of God.

Soon afterwards, God told Saul to destroy the Amalakites – all of them, along with all their cattle. Saul kept the king and the best of the animals alive. His reason? “I feared the people and obeyed their voice.” (I Samuel 15:24)
