~This phrase began to resound in my spirit over the past few days,

“Who do you say I am?”

As I began to ponder it, I thought of all the things I’ve ever said and believed about God, about Jesus.  I looked back on my life and I realized that when I was still full of lots of hurts and traumas, my perception of who Jesus really was, wasn’t exactly right.  Because I had so much junk in me I had never dealt with my vision was skewed.  Other times, my head knew what the Bible said was true, but heart believed something entirely different.

~Deep wounds need deep healing.  Our vision of Father is skewed without it.~

If we aren’t dealing with religious thoughts keeping us bound and powerless, then we are probably dealing with unresolved healing from hurts and traumas.  For me, it was both.  I was a nice muddy mess of unresolved hurts, traumas, and religious, legalistic vomit.  But somewhere within was a spark that said, “Don’t give up Julie.  Let Me heal you.  I’m not them.  I won’t hurt you.  I still love them and I love you.  Please…come.”

This has to be said.  You may “think” you are fine; that you are no longer hurt, offended, or in need of healing.  But just because you don’t feel anything anymore doesn’t mean it isn’t there.  What many of us do to cope with hurts and trauma is to “go numb”…literally.  You see, for many of us, at some point, we’ve decided...
