What to Do When You are Discouraged - Sherry Evans.

There is a major misconception that a Christian cannot be influenced by demonic influences – or that a demon or legion of demons can’t be assigned upon a person that is “born-again”.

I have a very good friend of the ministry that was praying for a lady, who discerned it was a demon of affliction causing the sickness in this believer. As he was praying, he began to rebuke the unclean spirit when another gentleman suddenly interrupted him, “This is a woman of God, a Christian. She does not have a demon in her!”

Out of respect for authority in the church, he stopped the confrontation (both with the man and the demonic)- he no longer rebuked the unclean spirit…this happens way too often in the body of Christ.

Why? Bad theology, pride, and actual ignorance.

You may be a born again Holy Spirit filled believer – and still have demonic presences attack your mind and body! Yes, even your Temple of the Holy Ghost! I am not giving any praise to the demons, they are subject to the name Jesus Christ – but only when we recognize them and rebuke them under that authority!

We see Jesus clearing the “temple” of the money changers – now they were not in the Holy of Holies – but they were in the temple! Just as the demonic can never possess what belongs to Jehovah God (your spirit) – your soul (mind, will, and emotions) and your flesh can be attacked if we open the doors for them to enter.

Still don’t believe a demon can enter the “temple” of a Christian?  Then how can you have bad thoughts of anger or envy?  How can Christians ever lust?  Because the demonic can and does enter our thoughts and our flesh IF we allow them through open doors.

We must recognize what is not of God, and stand against it with the name of Jesus Christ!

What Would Jesus Do? Jesus Rebuked Demons – and they left! Jesus did not counsel with the demonized – he did not medicate the demonized – he called them out and set the person free!
